It was a privilege to photograph Nicole and Ryan's winter wedding in Vail at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. The wedding was the Saturday before Christmas, and holiday magic was floating in the air. Ice skaters twirled in the plaza rink, the three-story Christmas tree in the mezzanine twinkled, and skiers from all over the world gathered slope-side for aprés ski holiday cheer.

It was the perfect day to get married.

A sliver of window light.

The incredible antler chandelier at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek.

These moments of the bride getting ready with her parents were some of my favorite from the day.

Nicole calls Ryan her "tall drink of water." It was a fitting description; he looked handsome on his wedding day.

Nicole and Ryan wanted to meet before the wedding for portraits together since their ceremony was in the final hour of daylight.

Those green eyes and that sweet smile. I could have photographed Nicole all afternoon.

All the gorgeous flowers were created by 3 Leaf Floral, with furniture and detail styling by Stonewood Vintage Rentals & Design.

Hot chocolate and apple cider, candles, gloves, and cozy blankets for guests are special touches Nicole wanted, and Shiara at Stonewood Vintage made them happen.

Park Hyatt Beaver Creek is the perfect site for an intimate white winter wedding.

Nicole's grandparents watched their baby granddaughter, and I was reminded how very important family is for me to capture at a wedding.

When the sun goes down in Vail, Colorado in December, the temperature easily falls below freezing in a matter of moments. Even so, Nicole insisted she wasn't cold all day, and I can only assume she was feeling that intoxicating mix of love and adrenaline.

This is one of those serendipitous moments that so often happen when Jami Davis Films and I work together. She is always thinking about the moving moment, and I'm always thinking about the still image. It's a creative and energizing adventure when I get to work with Jami.

The plain wood fireplace room was transformed by Stonewood Vintage Rentals & Design into Nicole's vision of a warm and beautifully candlelit space that served an elegant dinner for 30.

Stonewood Vintage created a beautiful display for cakes created by Park Hyatt Beaver Creek's pastry chef, who tempted all palates with four gorgeous cakes.

Vail/Beaver Creek is a magical place for a winter wedding, and Nicole and Ryan let their day unfold in the happiest way. I don't think I took a single photo of Ryan when he wasn't looking at Nicole with a beaming heart. They were very much together in shared time and place. Love is a powerful thing.
