I remember sitting in their living room a couple of years ago, munching on chips and salsa and talking about his dream: to help give artists in Grand Junction a place to express their creative voice and gain exposure.
Well, that dream is now a reality, and I am proud of my friend Justin and his wife Shauna. Their gallery, The Raw Canvas, is an artist co-op style art gallery with space for over a dozen local artists to display their unique work. Their goal is simple, “Be Unique, Be Seen, Be Known.”
I was thrilled to attend the grand-reopening of their new Main street location last Friday night. It was packed from wall to wall, the atmosphere buzzing with chatter, laughter and live music. As a photographer it was exciting to see all different kinds of people coming out to support the local art community.
The next time your downtown strolling around or shopping, stop into their new gallery space on 507 Main Street.

Scrumptious hor’derves were provided by the fabulous Bin 707 Foodbar. Mmmm…have I mentioned how much I love that place?

Justin and Shauna ~ Thanks for dreaming big. You two are so inspiring. Love you guys.
